Return Policy & Warranty

Returns, Refunds, and Limited Workmanship Warranty

All products sold by Riverside Metalwork & Design are manufactured to order and subject to a dimensional tolerance of ±1/8 inch of the specifications listed on the product page or on specified on the invoice for custom items. By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these tolerances and the terms outlined below. 

1. Inspection & Acceptance

Customers should inspect all items upon delivery.

  • Shipping damage, missing items, or obvious defects must be reported in writing (email) within 72 hours of delivery.
  • Workmanship defects, including weld-related issues not apparent at delivery, may be reported at any time during the applicable warranty period.

Failure to report shipping damage or obvious defects within 72 hours may result in denial of those claims.

2. Defective or Out-of-Specification Items

If Riverside Metalwork & Design determines that an item is defective or outside stated specifications, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the item. All associated shipping costs will be covered by Riverside Metalwork & Design.

3. Items That Meet Specifications

Items that meet stated specifications are not returnable as a matter of right. Any return, exchange, or refund is granted solely at the discretion of Riverside Metalwork & Design.

4. Standard (Non-Custom) Items – Non-Defective

If a standard website item meets the stated specifications but doesn’t fit your application, or you simply wish to return the item for any reason other than a material or workmanship related defect, it may be eligible for return upon request and prior written approval. If approved:

  • Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs
  • Customer is responsible for shipping costs on any replacement items

5. Custom Items – Non-Defective

Custom items are manufactured specifically for the customer's application and are non-returnable if they meet stated specifications. It is not the responsibility of Riverside Metalwork & Design to ensure specifications given to us are correct for your specific application. Any exception must be approved in writing by Riverside Metalwork & Design. If approved, all shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

6. Return Authorization

No returns will be accepted without prior written authorization. Approved returns will be issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without authorization or outside approved terms may be refused or returned at the customer's expense.

Returned items must be unused, unmodified, and in original condition. Installed, altered, or modified items are not eligible for return or refund.

7. Limited One-Year Workmanship Warranty

Riverside Metalwork & Design warrants that its products are free from defects in workmanship and materials at the time of delivery and for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery.

This warranty includes welds and structural components and applies only to failures resulting from defective workmanship or materials as manufactured.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Overloading or exceeding intended use
  • Vibration fatigue or cyclic loading
  • Improper installation, mounting, or support
  • Impact, collision, or abuse
  • Corrosion, chemical exposure, or environmental conditions
  • Modification, alteration, or repair by parties other than Riverside Metalwork & Design
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Use outside the original intended application

Aluminum products are subject to fatigue under vibration and cyclic loads. Service life depends on installation, mounting, and operating conditions, which are outside the control of Riverside Metalwork & Design.

Warranty Claims

All warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include photographs and a description of the issue. Riverside Metalwork & Design retains sole authority to determine whether a condition is covered under this warranty.

Remedies

Riverside Metalwork & Design's obligation under this warranty is limited, at its discretion, to:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund

This warranty does not cover labor, removal, reinstallation, downtime, or consequential damages. Shipping costs are covered only for verified workmanship or material defects.

Local Repair Reimbursement

For large or high-value items, Riverside Metalwork & Design may, at its sole discretion, approve local repair of verified workmanship defects.

Requirements:

  1. Pre-Approval – The customer must submit a written description, photos, and proposed repair plan before work is performed.
  2. Authorized Repair Shop – Repairs must be performed by a qualified technician or shop approved by Riverside Metalwork & Design.
  3. Documentation – After repair, the customer must provide a detailed invoice and before-and-after photos.
  4. Coverage Limits – Riverside Metalwork & Design will reimburse actual verified costs up to the approved amount. Unauthorized repairs or costs above the approved amount are not covered.
  5. Exclusions – Only defects in workmanship or materials as manufactured are covered; damage from misuse, overloading, vibration fatigue, corrosion, or normal wear is excluded.
  6. Payment Method – Reimbursement will be made directly to the approved repair shop or customer, at the discretion of Riverside Metalwork & Design.
